  • ¾ cup granulated sugar (for batter)
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • ⅓ cup sour cream
  • 1 ⅓ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ⅓ cup milk
  • 3 cups chopped fresh strawberries
  • 1 ½ tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp granulated sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Line an 8×8-inch metal baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, sugars, and salt for the crumb topping; add melted butter until combined. Set aside.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together melted butter, sugar, and vanilla until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in sour cream.
  4. Combine flour, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl; fold into the wet mixture along with milk until smooth.
  5. Toss strawberries with flour and sugar; layer on top of the batter in the pan.
  6. Sprinkle crumb topping over the strawberries.
  7. Bake for 40–50 minutes or until lightly golden and firm to touch.
