Description

Spicy Pineapple Jalapeño Chutney is a vibrant and zesty condiment that brings a perfect blend of sweet and spicy flavors to any meal. This homemade chutney combines juicy pineapple with the heat of fresh jalapeños, creating a delightful topping that complements grilled meats, enhances cheese platters, and makes the ideal dip for tortilla chips. Whether you’re hosting a summer barbecue or simply sprucing up a weeknight dinner, this chutney will elevate your culinary experience. Best of all, it’s easy to make with simple ingredients you likely already have in your kitchen.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 medium fresh pineapple, peeled, cored, and diced
  • 23 fresh jalapeños, seeded and minced
  • 1 small red onion, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Optional: 1 tablespoon lime juice

Instructions

  1. Start by preparing your ingredients: dice the pineapple, mince the jalapeños (adjust for desired heat), and finely chop the red onion.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine all prepared ingredients: pineapple, jalapeños, red onion, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, ginger, cumin, salt, and pepper.
  3. Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat. Cook for approximately 15–20 minutes until the pineapple softens and the chutney thickens slightly.
  4. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary; add lime juice for extra tanginess if desired.
  5. Remove from heat and allow to cool before transferring to an airtight container. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
