Ingredients
- 3 ripe bananas (mashed)
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 2 1/4 cups all purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons caramel syrup
- 1/2 cup butter (melted and cooled)
- 1/4 cup buttermilk
- 2 eggs (beaten)
- 1 teaspoon sea salt
- 2–3 tablespoons caramel sauce
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine all dry ingredients: flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- In another bowl, mix the wet ingredients: mashed bananas, white sugar, brown sugar, vanilla extract, melted butter (cooled), buttermilk, and beaten eggs.
- Blend the wet mixture into the dry until just combined; avoid overmixing.
- Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan and drizzle two tablespoons of caramel sauce on top. Swirl gently with a knife.
- Add the remaining batter on top and repeat with another drizzle of caramel sauce.
- Bake for 55 to 60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Once baked, allow it to cool for 15 minutes before removing from the pan.
- While warm, sprinkle sea salt on top and drizzle additional caramel sauce before slicing.
