  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 (15-ounce) can pumpkin puree
  • 1 loaf brioche or challah bread
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • Maple syrup for serving
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon pumpkin spice
  • 1 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, blend room temperature cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  3. In another bowl, mix together melted butter, chopped pecans, brown sugar, and salt.
  4. In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, ground cinnamon, pumpkin spice, vanilla extract, milk, pumpkin puree, and sweetened condensed milk.
  5. Layer half of the sliced bread in a baking dish. Spread half of the cream cheese mixture over the bread. Repeat with another layer of bread and remaining cream cheese mixture. Pour the egg mixture evenly over everything.
  6. Sprinkle the pecan topping on top.
  7. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes; then remove foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes until golden brown.
