  • 2 cups (400 g) granulated sugar
  • 2 cups (336 g) semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup (109 g) finely chopped pecans

Instructions

  1. Line a large rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a heavy-bottom saucepan over medium heat, combine butter and sugar. Stir continuously until the mixture reaches a dark amber color and 285°F on a candy thermometer, about 35-45 minutes.
  3. Pour the hot mixture onto the prepared baking sheet and sprinkle chocolate chips on top. Let sit for 1-2 minutes until softened, then spread evenly with a spatula.
  4. Top with pecans, pressing them lightly into the chocolate layer.
  5. Allow to cool at room temperature for about an hour before breaking into pieces.
