  • 1 cup panko bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste

  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook macaroni according to package directions; drain.
  2. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Whisk in flour and gradually add milk until thickened. Stir in cheese until melted.
  3. Combine cooked macaroni with cheese sauce and let cool slightly. Shape into small balls.
  4. Dip each ball in beaten egg, then coat with flour mixture.
