Description

Cowboy Chili is the ultimate comfort food that warms the soul and satisfies the appetite. This hearty dish combines extra lean ground beef with a medley of spices and pinto beans, creating a rich and flavorful experience perfect for any occasion, from cozy family dinners to lively game nights. The simplicity of its ingredients—like garlic, onion, and stewed tomatoes—packs a punch of taste that will leave everyone asking for seconds.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3/4 pound extra lean ground beef
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 medium yellow onion, chopped
  • 1 (15-ounce) can chopped stewed tomatoes
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 (15-ounce) can pinto beans, rinsed and drained

Instructions

  1. In a large saucepan over medium heat, cook the ground beef, garlic, and onion until the beef is browned (about 10 minutes). Drain excess liquid.
  2. Stir in the chopped tomatoes, beef broth, chili powder, cumin, oregano, and cayenne pepper until well combined.
  3. Reduce heat to low and cover; let simmer for one hour, stirring occasionally.
  4. Add rinsed pinto beans and salt; stir well and cook for another 15 minutes. Serve hot with desired toppings.
