Description

  • 250 g all-purpose flour
  • 110 g milk
  • 1 egg
  • 50 g sugar
  • A pinch of salt
  • 20 g butter (softened)
  • 3 g dry yeast (or 9 g fresh yeast)
  • 1 tablespoon orange marmalade
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 80 g butter (for layering)
  • Egg wash: 1 egg beaten with 1 tablespoon of cream or milk
  • Granulated sugar for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine flour and yeast. Add egg, milk, vanilla, and orange marmalade; mix until incorporated. Let rest for 10 minutes.
  2. Add sugar and salt; mix until absorbed, then rest for another 10 minutes.
  3. Incorporate softened butter until smooth. Cover and refrigerate for one hour.
  4. Roll dough into a rectangle (50×30 cm) and spread softened butter over it.
  5. Fold the dough into quarters, wrap in plastic, and chill for one hour.
  6. Roll out to a rectangle (20×35 cm) and cut into triangles.
  7. Roll each triangle from the base to tip; place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  8. Brush with egg wash, sprinkle with sugar, cover, and let rise until doubled (about 30 minutes).
  9. Bake at 180°C for approximately 20 minutes or until golden brown.
