Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup seasoned breadcrumbs
  • 1 cup low-sodium beef broth
  • 8 oz sliced button mushrooms
  • 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, chopped onion, minced garlic, breadcrumbs, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined.
  2. Shape the mixture into oval patties about 1 inch thick and set aside.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Brown the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden crust forms. Remove from skillet.
  4. In the same skillet, sauté sliced mushrooms until golden brown (about 5 minutes). Add beef broth and Worcestershire sauce to deglaze the pan.
  5. Simmer the mixture for about 5 minutes until slightly thickened. Return patties to skillet and spoon sauce over them; simmer for an additional few minutes.
  6. Serve warm with your choice of sides.
