  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup almond paste
  • 1/4 cup slivered almonds
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • Powdered sugar (for dusting)

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine diced apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice. Cook for 5–7 minutes until apples are tender but not mushy.
  2. Knead the almond paste until soft and creamy.
  3. Unroll the croissant dough on a floured surface. Spread almond cream on each piece and top with apple filling. Roll into crescent shapes.
  4. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and grease it. Place croissants on the sheet and brush with egg wash; sprinkle slivered almonds on top.
  5. Bake for 15–20 minutes until golden brown. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
